Tiago

Tiago Tiago is a PhD student in Nuclear Chemistry in Vancouver, British Columbia. His research focuses on developing innovative organic molecules that can bind radioactive metals, with the goal of advancing highly targeted nuclear imaging and cancer therapy. Tiago's work has the potential to contribute significantly to the field of medical diagnostics and treatment.

Having entered the foster care system at the age of three, Tiago is deeply committed to supporting youth in care. He believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their highest potential. In his role as a member of the Children’s Aid Foundation’s Young People’s Advisory Council from 2023-2025, Tiago worked to amplify the voices of youth in care and help shape policies that improve their lives. His dedication to advocacy is informed by his own experiences and his belief in the power of community support.

Outside of his academic and advocacy work, Tiago enjoys traveling and scuba diving, activities that allow him to explore new cultures and connect with the world around him. His diverse experiences continue to inspire both his scientific endeavors and his commitment to helping others.

Conner

Conner Conner just graduated from law school at Osgoode Hall and is currently completing his articles at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Prior to law school, he graduated from the University of Toronto with High Distinction with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, ethics, and law.

Conner has a strong passion for law and advocacy and has used this passion to create regulatory improvements to better the lives of youth in the children welfare system. Conner has been involved with several youth-serving organizations in the child welfare sector over the past decade and has had the opportunity to advance solutions and advocate for children's rights at the Provincial, National, and even at the International level with his work at the United Nations.

Conner has been involved with the Foundation for the better part of a decade, beginning with his service on YPAC back in 2020. The Foundation continues to have a special place in Conner’s heart because of the work they do and the great people at the organization. Conner is pleased to co-host the 39th annual Teddy Bear Affair Gala.
